Look what the cat dragged in! I'm literally jumping for joy that Rikki Rockett, who I saw in concert with the band Poison when I was a youngster, submitted a story to Haunted Travels Anthology. And, it's damn good! Thank you Angela Artuso for reaching out to Rikki. I'm so excited that he will be featured in our anthology. His first book, "Ghost Notes," will come out this summer and is published by Simon & Schuster, a publishing house that distributes my book "Wicked Salem" and "Ghosts of the American Revolution." Is the Warren Occult Museum heading to Salem, Massachusetts? From 2007 to 2010, I worked as a magazine editor and wrote an anonymous blog called “Loaded Gun Boston,” which focused on films made in Massachusetts. The site took off in a way I never expected. At its peak, it was drawing nearly a million page views a week, even though no one really knew who was behind it. The popularity of the blog eventually led to freelance opportunities with magazines like US Weekly, where I wrote about movies being filmed across the state. Part of what made the blog so compelling was my uncanny ability to pinpoint filming locations—often without any insider information. Looking back, I think it was a combination of solid journalism skills and my intuitive gifts as a medium that helped me connect the dots. When I got sober in 2009, my interests began to shift, and by 2010 I stepped away from the blog entirely. Reflecting on my career, I’m amazed at how often I’ve managed to start with nothing and work my way to the top. I’ve always loved a challenge At this stage of my life, I’m not exactly sure what’s next. But I’ve always dreamed of owning a bookstore or a haunted inn—and I’d love to produce a documentary someday. LAST CALL for submissions to the Haunted Travels Anthology! Our deadline is this Friday, March 13th. With a personal goal to relocate to a warmer climate by the end of the year, I wanted to honor a region that continues to inspire me as an author and journalist. I'm offering one more Ghost Writers class offered via ZOOM focusing specifically on Gothic New England. https://massparacon.square.site/ For many years, I had this recurring dream of the Borden murders but there was Lizzie holding a hatchet and a man, who had a handlebar mustache, standing behind her almost pushing her to do it. She couldn't and the man stepped in to finish Andrew off. I asked Chatgpt to recreate the scenario and this is fairly close to my nightmare. The title for the new book is "Lizzie Borden & the Family Curse." It fits the tone of the manuscript very well, so I'm very happy this title was selected. In addition to thanking my mother, I also need to thank my dear friend Andrew Warburton for helping me with my latest book on Lizzie Borden and the so-called "family curse." This photo is from many years ago and I'm so grateful that our friendship has weathered the storm and we were able to reconnect now as fellow authors. Now that I finished my book on Lizzie Borden, I have to thank my mother for her initial genealogical research which tied our family to the Bordens through my grandfather, Charles Hughes. Thank you mom for passing down your passion for research. I'm so grateful that you are my mother. I'm happy to announce that Lauren Perez and Danny Perez, aka "The Radikals," will join us on Saturday, April 4th at the beautifully restored and haunted Sk Pierce Haunted Victorian Mansion in Gardner, MA. We're doing a paranormal-themed Easter egg hunt for the children spirits of the Sk Pierce Haunted Victorian Mansion on the night before Easter. It's also Lauren & Danny's six-year wedding anniversary. It should be a real treat. Join us! https://massparacon.square.site/product/spirit-squad-investigation/6TR3B6ZD7IK4OPVO3QNVOL3R As many of you know, I’ve been really sick with RSV and lingering post-viral syndrome that just wouldn’t go away. On top of that, my Rheumatoid Arthritis always flares up during the winter here in Boston. It’s been a lot. I finished my book and I celebrated for a few days in my home state. I needed the warmth so bad. Thank you Universe!
